More about PechaKucha Night:

PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.

It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of conversation (“chit chat”), it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace

More about our speakers (we’re adding bios as they’re sent, so stay tuned):

Garrett Owen,Design Director at Dallas based BrandCory, graduated in 2006 from KU with a BFA in Visual Communication, and quickly made his way to Dallas to work for Matchbox Studio and then Range Design. Across nearly 7 years, Garrett found his niche in retail branding, packaging, product innovation, brand identity, and well-timed sarcastic remarks with clients like Dr Pepper, Snapple, IHOP, Borden & the AT&T Performing Arts Center. His work has been recognized by HOW International, Graphis, Print Regional, and Communication Arts. Aside from being married to the coolest wife ever and father to the cutest little boy in the world, Garrett enjoys fake football, respectful elevator etiquette, and riding his Harley through quiet Lakewood neighborhoods.

John Keehler is a group director of digital strategy at The Richards Group, the largest independently owned ad agency in the US. He’s done notable digital work through his career for brands like Home Depot, Fruit of the Loom, Travelocity, Amstel Light and Walmart. When he’s not hard at work for The Richards Group, he’s hard at work educating the next generation of digital experts as a lecturer at SMU, the University of Colorado and Boulder Digital Works.

Christian Yazdanpanah is blessed to have been given numerous opportunities and support to use education as a way out of childhood poverty. His passion can often be misunderstood, his conversations erratic, but his focus is always on making sure he creates sustainable change.

Jill Broussard is a freelance commercial photography focused on lifestyle, kids and food. In her free time (laugh) Jill enjoys trashy tv, her vegetable garden, and rock climbing. jillbroussard.com

A graduate of North Texas’ Communication Design program and currently a Creative Director on Boost Mobile at iNSPIRE!, a Hispanic Market Advertising Agency, he’s been working in this market for over a decade and have worked on brands like Pepsi, Nissan, Bud Light, Taco Bell, Frito Lay, Gatorade, HBO, Southwest Airlines, Washington Mutual, Nationwide Insurance, Sierra Mist, and now Boost Mobile.

Doug Davis, owner of D Squared Studios based out of Dallas, specializes in special effects studio photography for local and international advertising campaigns. I have broad industry experience ranging from food and fashion products to life-style and celebrity portraiture. Clients include: American Airlines, AT&T, Brinker International, Chick-fil-A, Dell Computers, Frito Lay, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Pepsi Co., Southwest Airlines and Sprint.

Josh Ege, Art Director at Fossil, is heavily involved in the Dallas creative community. Outside of the office, Josh is an adjunct Visual Communications instructor at Texas A&M University-Commerce as well as previously serving as President on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Society of Visual Communications and chairman of the 3rd Annual National Student Show and Conference.
