AIGA DFW Path to Impact Workshop

If you’re aiming to have a positive impact through design, then Path to Impact will help you ensure you’re designing with the community you intend to benefit always in mind, that you stay inclusive in your process, set up a measurable course of action, and consider the consequences of your decisions along the way. Whether you are working alone, in a small group, or aligning with an entire community with a range of stakeholders, this process will help you hit your goals of designing for a better world.

Use this framework for:

  • Designing individual projects that aim to have a positive impact
  • Leading large scale community enhancement projects
  • Teaching strategic, sustainable, and socially responsible design
  • Improving your existing workflow to be more inclusive and measurable

Each ticket holder will receive a copy of the Path to Impact workbook so they can continue to design measurable and sustainable impact projects outside the workshop. Each step of the 50-page workbook contains worksheets with prompts and design thinking exercises to help you think holistically about your project.

Please join us at Printed Threads for refreshments and conversation with fellow DFW creatives when doors open at 6:00pm. The workshop will begin promptly at 6:30pm.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Gage Mitchell (he/him), a former President’s Council Chair for AIGA, is the Principal and Creative Director at Modern Species, a strategic branding and responsible design studio in Seattle, Washington. Gage sees everything as a design challenge. Whether it’s designing new business strategies, designing to solve community problems, or designing your life to be more fulfilling. When Gage isn’t trying to save the world with design, he’s probably sipping delicious craft beer or experimenting in the kitchen.
