Calling all AIGA student members—you’re invited to the 2022 Student MiniCon! Get ready for hands-on practice with tips and tricks in a hand-lettering workshop, inspiration from a keynote speaker sharing actionable advice for creatives, and exercise your creative muscles by collaborating to solve design challenges.
This free 3 hour event is your opportunity to think creatively with fellow design students, strengthen your design skill set, and level up your professional preparation. The cherry on top? Mix and mingle with design students from colleges across the DFW metroplex.
Hand Lettering Workshop with Viv Jordan
Viv Jordan is a hand lettering artist and designer with a wide range of work, including: live lettering (for Neiman Marcus, Minted, and David Yurman), a stationery line called Road Trip Paper, custom signage, and murals. She enjoys sharing her lettering passion in workshops around the country and with the people she works with.
Keynote presentation by Lily Smith-Kirkley
Lily Smith-Kirkley is a native Texan who finds inspiration in nature, folk art, ancient symbolism wabi-sabi, and tall tales. She explores shape and color through drawing, painting, and linoleum carving. Her creations include letterpress art prints, greeting cards notebooks, and more. Lily believes that art and design should be accessible, affordable, and appreciated through everyday items.
Use the parking lots along the West side of Delante Street (just past the TCN building) and enter the rear door below the black awning. Once inside, just go down the hall and we'll greet you in the “Main St.” commons area.
This facility is accessible by stairs and has a ramp at the main rear entrance.
