AIGA is operated entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers. In addition to our board of directors, we have a devoted team of volunteers that fall under one of our several committees to keep events running smooth, engage with our community and expand our membership. Below are the missions and goals for our committees as well as the board chairs that manage each team:
Engage local chapter members with activities and opportunities for professional growth and community connection, in alignment with AIGA national initiatives. Promote the value of AIGA membership, grow member base, and meet members by engaging with existing and prospective members through community-focused events.
Facilitate the development of programs that fulfill the goals of the organization and bring people together in inclusive spaces for valuable experiences that inspire, educate, and serve the local design community.
Communicate chapter programs and activities to the design community at large in alignment with the organization’s mission and values to invite and encourage engagement.
Diversity & Inclusion
The Diversity & Inclusion Committee supports traditionally marginalized and excluded persons in design.
Champion student leadership and growth by establishing and nurturing AIGA student groups and supporting design educators by providing collaborative events and resources for ongoing success in an ever-changing landscape.
Greets guests at each in-person event, managing at-the-door ticket sales and admissions, along with sales of AIGA swag and information on supporting the organization via membership.
User Experience (UX)
Dedicated to the planning and executing thoughtful events surrounding User Experience topics, best practices, and resources for keeping design skills up to speed in the ever-changing realm of creative for web, app, and other digital applications.
